Sehr geehrte Gesundheitsminister,<\/p>\n

Am 16. M\u00e4rz findet ein Meinungsaustausch \u00fcber den von der Kommission vorgelegten europ\u00e4ischen Plan zur Krebsbek\u00e4mpfung statt. Als Gesundheitsminister und engagierter Verfechter einer gesundheitspolitischen L\u00f6sung tragen Sie eine immense Verantwortung gegen\u00fcber Krebspatienten und allen europ\u00e4ischen B\u00fcrgern. Deshalb wenden wir uns vor dem bevorstehenden Treffen mit der EU-Kommission an Sie.<\/p>\n

Wir sind der Ansicht, dass dieser Plan Tabak und rauchbedingte Krebserkrankungen nicht ausreichend ber\u00fccksichtigt. Er verschlie\u00dft Rauchern, die mit neuartigen Tabakprodukten, insbesondere E-Zigaretten, aufh\u00f6ren m\u00f6chten, die M\u00f6glichkeit, indem er Abstinenz \u00fcber Schadensminimierung stellt.<\/p>\n

Der Krebsplan der Kommission schl\u00e4gt vor, E-Zigaretten genauso zu besteuern wie Tabak, das Dampfen in \u00f6ffentlichen R\u00e4umen zu verbieten und E-Zigarettenprodukte und -Aromen Tabak gleichzustellen. Dies ist eine verfehlte und gef\u00e4hrliche Politik.<\/p>\n

Studien belegen, dass Dampfer doppelt so h\u00e4ufig dauerhaft mit dem Rauchen aufh\u00f6ren wie Nutzer von Nikotinpflastern oder -kaugummis. Zudem ist wissenschaftlich erwiesen, dass das Krebsrisiko f\u00fcr Dampfer nur 0,41 % des lebenslangen Krebsrisikos von Rauchern betr\u00e4gt. Mit dem Verbot dieser Ger\u00e4te ignoriert der Krebsplan der Kommission Hunderttausende Dampfer in ganz Europa.<\/p>\n

Bei der World Vapers' Alliance wissen wir, dass unsere 13.000 Dampfer und 23 Partnerorganisationen die Entwicklung der Gesetzgebung zum Dampfen auf europ\u00e4ischer Ebene mit gro\u00dfer Sorge verfolgen. Sollte die Kommission an ihrer aktuellen Richtung f\u00fcr Dampfprodukte festhalten, wird dies zu steigenden Raucherquoten f\u00fchren und jegliche Fortschritte auf dem Weg zu einer krebsfreien Gesellschaft zunichtemachen. Dieser Plan h\u00e4tte zudem weltweit regulatorische Folgewirkungen. Daher appellieren wir dringend an Sie, sich gegen die aktuelle Version des Plans der EU-Kommission zu wehren, da er, wie Sie dem untenstehenden Dokument entnehmen k\u00f6nnen, katastrophale Konsequenzen f\u00fcr die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit h\u00e4tte.<\/p>\n
