Trods de seneste fremskridt er regeringen nu\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mononews.gr\/business\/pharma-health\/apofasi-stathmos-apo-adoni-georgiadi-telos-stis-gefseis-ton-ilektronikon-tsigaron\">overvejer et forbud<\/a>\u00a0om vaping-smagsstoffer \u2013 et tr\u00e6k, der truer med at underminere landets h\u00e5rdt tilk\u00e6mpede fremskridt med at reducere rygerater og forbedre folkesundheden.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e6kenland har l\u00e6nge haft en af de h\u00f8jeste rygerater i Den Europ\u00e6iske Union. If\u00f8lge\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/eurobarometer\/surveys\/detail\/2995\">Eurostat<\/a>, steg rygeraten i Gr\u00e6kenland fra 38% i 2015 til 41% i 2021, mens rygeraten faldt i mange andre EU-lande. Dette st\u00e5r i skarp kontrast til Sverige, hvor rygeraten er styrtdykket, og landet nu er p\u00e5 nippet til at blive r\u00f8gfrit.<\/p>\n<p>Der er dog ogs\u00e5 en positiv side. Siden 2019, hvor Gr\u00e6kenland officielt indf\u00f8rte skadesreduktion som en central del af sin politik for tobakskontrol, har landet form\u00e5et at vende den tidligere voksende tendens til rygning. Rygeprocenten er nu faldet til 36%. Dette er en bem\u00e6rkelsesv\u00e6rdig pr\u00e6station sammenlignet med den stagnation eller endda tilbagegang, der er set andre steder i EU.<\/p>\n<p>Trods disse fremskridt overvejer Gr\u00e6kenland nu et forbud mod vaping af smagsstoffer. Dette er et dybt misforst\u00e5et tr\u00e6k. Smagsstoffer er et af de mest tiltalende aspekter af mindre skadelige alternativer til rygning, og de har vist sig at hj\u00e6lpe rygere med at skifte og holde sig fra cigaretter.<\/p>\n<p>Et af de mest almindelige argumenter for et smagsforbud er den s\u00e5kaldte &quot;gateway&quot;-effekt \u2013 at vaping og lignende produkter f\u00e5r unge til at begynde at ryge. Dataene i Gr\u00e6kenland underst\u00f8tter dog simpelthen ikke denne p\u00e5stand. 98% af alle nikotinforbrugere i Gr\u00e6kenland startede med cigaretter. Kun 1% startede med vaping, poser eller opvarmet tobak. Ved at st\u00f8tte et s\u00e5dant forbud ville politikere presse voksne tilbage til at ryge eller ud p\u00e5 det sorte marked, bringe liv i fare og ignorere videnskabelige beviser. Forskning viser konsekvent, at smagsstoffer spiller en afg\u00f8rende rolle i at hj\u00e6lpe rygere med at holde op. Et forbud mod dem ignorerer b\u00e5de beviserne og folkets klare vilje og straffer hundredtusindvis af voksne eksrygere, der har form\u00e5et at holde op med at ryge takket v\u00e6re smagsstoffer.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e6kenland er ikke alene om at overveje et s\u00e5dant forbud. Syv EU-lande (Danmark, Estland, Finland, Ungarn, Litauen, Holland og Slovenien) har allerede vedtaget love, der forbyder vape-smagsstoffer. Spanien og Belgien overvejer ogs\u00e5 lignende foranstaltninger.<\/p>\n<p>Resultaterne har v\u00e6ret katastrofale. Kun\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC10576309\/\">2,1% af dampere rapporterer tobak<\/a>\u00a0som deres eksklusive smag, mens resten indtager forskellige smagsvarianter.<\/p>\n<p>Politikerne skal f\u00f8lge beviserne og lytte til forbrugerne.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/da\/every-life-counts\/\">100.000 mennesker<\/a>\u00a0har underskrevet World Vapers&#039; Alliances andragende mod et smagsforbud, og EU-Kommissionens h\u00f8ring i 2023 viste, at en\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tholosfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Tholos_Policy_Paper_v71.pdf\">flertallet st\u00f8tter skadesreduktion<\/a>\u00a0produkter, herunder smagsstoffer.<\/p>\n<p>Hvis Gr\u00e6kenland mener det alvorligt med at reducere rygerater og beskytte folkesundheden, skal landet forts\u00e6tte med at st\u00f8tte skadesreduktion, ikke underminere den med vildledende forbud.
