Riga, 11.10.2023. \u2013<\/strong> Den lettiske regering vedtog en r\u00e6kke \u00e6ndringer af punktafgiftsloven<\/a> som inkluderer en gradvis stigning i punktafgiften p\u00e5 e-v\u00e6sker og andre tobakserstatningsprodukter. E-v\u00e6sker og deres komponenter vil opleve en stigning i punktafgiftssatserne med gennemsnitligt 21% hvert \u00e5r i 2024, 2025 og 2026, mens tobakserstatningsprodukter, en kategori inklusive nikotinposer, vil g\u00f8re det samme inden 10%. \u00c6ndringerne vil have en negativ indvirkning p\u00e5 Letlands bestr\u00e6belser p\u00e5 at begr\u00e6nse rygning ved at g\u00f8re mulighederne for at skifte rygning mindre attraktive.<\/p>\n

\u201c"\u201c\u00d8get beskatning af sikrere nikotinprodukter vil afskr\u00e6kke rygere fra at skifte og presse brugerne tilbage til at ryge. Internationale beviser har vist, at \u00f8get beskatning af e-cigaretter og e-v\u00e6sker altid har f\u00f8rt til en stigning i rygning, is\u00e6r blandt unge voksne og lavindkomstgrupper. Letland b\u00f8r f\u00f8lge i fodsporene fra lande, der med succes reducerer rygerater ved at tilskynde rygere til at skifte, s\u00e5som Storbritannien og Sverige, i stedet for at g\u00f8re det dyrere for dem.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVaping er mindre skadeligt end rygning og b\u00f8r behandles som s\u00e5dan.
