Bruxelles, 4. oktober \u2014<\/strong> Tidligere p\u00e5 ugen cirkulerede en l\u00e6kket rapport fra Europa-Kommissionen blandt medlemmerne af Europa-Parlamentet med EU-lovgivernes chokerende holdning til fremtiden for skadesreduktion i Europa. \u201cSvensk succes med r\u00f8gfrihed er ikke et mirakel \u2013 det er et resultat af den landsd\u00e6kkende evidensbaserede politik, der st\u00f8tter det mindre skadelige alternativ til cigaretter. Siden verden begyndte at fejre den svenske succes med at n\u00e5 5%-m\u00e5let om r\u00f8gfrihed, har alles \u00f8jne v\u00e6ret rettet mod EU som drivkraft for skadesreduktion og innovation. Hvis EU-Kommissionen g\u00e5r videre med at udvide snusforbuddet til yderligere at omfatte nikotinposer, vil det ikke blot bringe dens egne r\u00f8gfri m\u00e5l i fare, men ogs\u00e5 s\u00e6tte rygestopindsatsen i fare verden over.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mens Sverige har form\u00e5et at reducere sine rygerater betydeligt i de seneste \u00e5rtier takket v\u00e6re undtagelsen fra snusforbuddet fra EU, f\u00e5r nikotinposer ikke den samme behandling og er derfor ogs\u00e5 truet i Sverige.<\/p>\n

\u201cDesv\u00e6rre g\u00e6lder den svenske undtagelse for tobakssnus ikke for nikotinportioner. Hvis EU-Kommissionen og medlemslandene accepterer rapportens anbefaling, vil hvid snus ogs\u00e5 blive forbudt i Sverige. M\u00e6nd har i vid udstr\u00e6kning fravalgt rygning til fordel for snus, mens kvinder, der leder efter mindre farlige alternativer, oftere v\u00e6lger hvid snus.
