Nitten internationale forbrugergrupper for skadereduktion af tobak har opfordret den sydafrikanske regering til at "stoppe med at dr\u00e6be skadereduktion" i sin nye lov om tobakskontrol. Den foresl\u00e5ede tekst til lovforslaget om kontrol med tobaksvarer og elektroniske leveringssystemer har til form\u00e5l at regulere alternative nikotinprodukter og br\u00e6ndbare produkter p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5de med bestemmelser, der d\u00e6kker ekstra restriktioner for salg og fremstilling af tobak og nikotinprodukter. Den omfatter ogs\u00e5 et forbud mod reklame for tobaksprodukter til opvarmning og vaping, et forbud mod offentlig brug af tobaksprodukter til opvarmning og vaping og en bef\u00f8jelse for ministeren til at indf\u00f8re smagsforbud for tobaksprodukter til opvarmning og vaping.<\/p>\n

\u201cRygning er et globalt problem og skal l\u00f8ses hurtigt og i overensstemmelse hermed. Kun i Sydafrika d\u00f8r 42.181 mennesker hvert \u00e5r p\u00e5 grund af tobaksrygning.
