Kapstaden, 14. juli 2023 \u2014 <\/b>Repr\u00e6sentanter for de 19 internationale skadesreduktionsgrupper opfordrede det sydafrikanske parlaments sundhedsudvalg til at omfavne vaping og andre alternative nikotinprodukter som v\u00e6rkt\u00f8jer til at bek\u00e6mpe rygning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

De <\/b>foresl\u00e5et tekst <\/b><\/a>i lovforslaget om kontrol med tobaksvarer og elektroniske leveringssystemer har til form\u00e5l at regulere alternative nikotinprodukter og br\u00e6ndbare produkter p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5de. <\/b>med bestemmelser, der d\u00e6kker ekstra restriktioner for salg og fremstilling af tobaks- og nikotinprodukter, et forbud mod reklame for tobaksopvarmnings- og vapingprodukter, et forbud mod offentlig brug af tobaksopvarmnings- og vapingprodukter, en bef\u00f8jelse for ministeren til at indf\u00f8re smagsforbud for tobaksopvarmnings- og vapingprodukter og andet.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c"Rygning er et globalt problem og skal l\u00f8ses hurtigt og i overensstemmelse hermed. Kun i Sydafrika, <\/span><\/i>42.181 mennesker d\u00f8r hvert \u00e5r <\/span><\/i><\/a>p\u00e5 grund af tobaksrygning. Alligevel indeholder de bestemmelser, som den sydafrikanske regering har tilbudt, adskillige bestemmelser, som vil standse de fremskridt, som Sydafrika har gjort i bek\u00e6mpelsen af rygeepidemien, og dermed bringe livet i fare for alle dem, der er holdt op med at ryge p\u00e5 grund af den brede tilg\u00e6ngelighed af alternative nikotinprodukter.\u201d <\/span><\/i>de organisationer, der er n\u00e6vnt i indl\u00e6gget.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organisationerne argumenterer for en risikobaseret regulering og h\u00e6vder, at <\/b>\u201c"I henhold til lovgivningen b\u00f8r rygning og vaping klart sondres og reguleres i separate bestemmelser, hvor vaping anerkendes som et v\u00e6rkt\u00f8j til at reducere rygning."\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201c"Nikotinprodukter b\u00f8r reguleres i henhold til deres risikoprofil. Vi har set mange eksempler, hvor totale forbud mod alternative produkter kun har givet det modsatte resultat og medf\u00f8rt skadelige virkninger for folkesundheden. Det er p\u00e5 tide, at vores embedsm\u00e6nd anerkender, at vaping er et redskab til at bek\u00e6mpe rygeepidemien og ikke b\u00f8r behandles p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5de."\u201d <\/span><\/i>siger direkt\u00f8r for World Vapers' Alliance, en af underskriverne af indsendelsen, Michael Landl.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c"Dette lovforslag giver sundhedsministeren bef\u00f8jelse til at regulere ethvert emne, som han finder n\u00f8dvendigt for at beskytte offentligheden. Sundhedsministeren vil have bef\u00f8jelse til at v\u00e6lge, hvem der kan s\u00e6lge vape-produkter, samt hvor og hvorn\u00e5r de kan s\u00e6lges.
