Bruxelles, Belgien \u2014<\/strong> I dag, den 1. juni, afholdt SANT (Underudvalget for Folkesundhed) en h\u00f8ring om &quot;Forebyggelse af ikke-smitsomme sygdomme&quot; for at fokusere p\u00e5 mulige l\u00f8sninger. Med nikotinforbrug som et af fokusemnerne i diskussionen, bliver det tydeligt, at der stadig er en masse misinformation og medf\u00f8dte fordomme om skadesreduktion blandt EU&#039;s beslutningstagere, siger Michael Landl, direkt\u00f8r for World Vapers&#039; Alliance, en forening, der forst\u00e6rker vapers&#039; stemmer verden over.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>Selvom ikke-smitsomme sygdomme, s\u00e5som hjerte-kar-sygdomme, kroniske lungesygdomme og kr\u00e6ft, b\u00f8r v\u00e6re hj\u00f8rnestenen i EU&#039;s folkesundhedsdagsorden, er det ogs\u00e5 afg\u00f8rende at forf\u00f8lge evidensbaserede og videnskabsbaserede tilgange. Vi er n\u00f8dt til at reducere de faktiske skader og ikke bek\u00e6mpe nikotinforbruget i sig selv. Den virkelige folkesundhedstrussel kommer fra cigaretrygning. Alternative produkter s\u00e5som snus, vaping og nikotinposer reducerer rygerelaterede sygdomme, fordi de effektivt hj\u00e6lper rygere med at holde op. At bek\u00e6mpe nikotinforbrug i stedet for de faktiske skader vil have langt mere skadelige konsekvenser.,<\/em>\u201dsagde Michael Landl.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Blandt de misforst\u00e5elser, der blev behandlet om skadesreduktionens rolle, var kommentarerne fra MEP Gonz\u00e1lez Casares og MEP Trillet-Lenoir fremtr\u00e6dende. Det, vi h\u00f8rte her, er et forsvar for teknik eller apparater i en bredere verden af tobaksforbrug. For ikke s\u00e5 l\u00e6nge siden var der et forbud mod vaping i nogle stater. Nogle siger, at det hj\u00e6lper dig med at komme af med vanen, men hvis vi taler om forebyggelse, taler vi om folk, der ikke ryger eller ikke f\u00e5r en vane i f\u00f8rste omgang, og det er den risiko, vi ikke b\u00f8r tage.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">MEP V\u00e9ronique Trillet-Lenoir kommenterede: &quot;\u201c<em>Vi er her for at tage fat p\u00e5 folkesundheden p\u00e5 en seri\u00f8s, videnskabsbaseret m\u00e5de.\u201d Alligevel omtalte MEP unders\u00f8gelsen af nikotins og snus&#039; rolle i at hj\u00e6lpe rygere med at holde op, \u201cligesom det tydeligt er at promovere det skadelige produkt, m\u00e5ske ikke s\u00e5 kr\u00e6ftfremkaldende som tobak, men dog skadeligt.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>Adskillige unders\u00f8gelser, brede forbrugerpr\u00e6ferencer og faktiske eksempler fra det virkelige liv, s\u00e5som opn\u00e5elsen af det svenske m\u00e5l om r\u00f8gfrihed 17 \u00e5r f\u00f8r EU-m\u00e5let, er st\u00e6rke beviser for, at skadesreduktion virker og kan lykkes med at forebygge ikke-smitsomme sygdomme.<\/em>\u201d&quot;tilf\u00f8jede Landl.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Efter dagens diskussion opfordrer World Vapers Alliance SANT-udvalget til at unders\u00f8ge BECA-konklusionen og anvende skadesreduktionsv\u00e6rkt\u00f8jer.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">World Vapers&#039; Alliance har udgivet et omfattende faktaark om skadesreduktion, der indeholder en samling af videnskabelige unders\u00f8gelser, der d\u00e6kker nikotinbrug, smagsstoffers rolle i e-cigaretter og beskatningens indvirkning p\u00e5 folkesundheden.
