Bruxelles, 30.11.2022.<\/strong> \u2014 I dag annoncerede EU-Kommissionen i sin \u201cGlobal sundhedsstrategi<\/a>\u201d"at det nye vejledende princip vil v\u00e6re at "prioritere at bek\u00e6mpe de grundl\u00e6ggende \u00e5rsager til d\u00e5rligt helbred". Desv\u00e6rre form\u00e5r strategien ikke at tackle en af de f\u00f8rende \u00e5rsager til d\u00e5rligt helbred - rygning. Reduktion af tobaksskader skal inkluderes i en s\u00e5dan strategi for at bek\u00e6mpe rygerelaterede sygdomme.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, direkt\u00f8r for World Vapers' Alliance, kommenterede:<\/p>\n

\u201c"EU-Kommissionen ignorerer igen videnskaben og forbrugernes stemmer. Reduktion af tobaksskader skal blive et centralt element i alle sundhedspolitikker i EU. Syv hundrede tusinde mennesker d\u00f8r hvert \u00e5r p\u00e5 grund af rygning, og samtidig k\u00e6mper Kommissionen imod mindre skadelige alternativer. Videnskaben er klar: vaping er langt mindre skadeligt end rygning og er et af de mest effektive hj\u00e6lpemidler til rygestop. Forbrugerne kr\u00e6ver, at Kommissionen endelig accepterer denne virkelighed."\u201d<\/p>\n

World Vapers' Alliance leverede en andragende<\/a> underskrevet af mere end 4.000 EU-borgere til parlamentsmedlemmerne og udtrykte deres bekymring over den negative holdning til vaping i EU-institutionerne. Andragendet opfordrede EU til at omfavne reduktion af tobaksskader og afst\u00e5 fra smagsforbud og h\u00f8jere beskatning.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Kommissionens m\u00e5l er at sikre et h\u00f8jt niveau af sundhedsbeskyttelse, men den form\u00e5r ikke at levere praktiske l\u00f8sninger. En sundhedsstrategi uden reduktion af tobaksskader vil sandsynligvis mislykkes lige fra starten. Kommissionen skal fokusere p\u00e5 l\u00f8sninger, der gavner folkesundheden ved at omfavne skadesreducerende alternativer s\u00e5som vaping og snus, og afst\u00e5 fra at fremme v\u00e6ksten p\u00e5 det sorte marked."\u201d<\/p>\n

Derudover udtrykker forbrugerne bekymring over EU-Kommissionens l\u00e6kkede plan om at \u00f8ge beskatningen af vapingprodukter og frygter negative konsekvenser for folkesundheden. EU-Kommissionen<\/a> planer om at "bringe beskatningen af nye rygeprodukter, s\u00e5som e-cigaretter og opvarmet tobak, p\u00e5 linje med cigaretter".<\/p>\n

\u201c"Kommissionen h\u00e6vder, at h\u00f8jere skatter vil forbedre folkesundheden, men virkeligheden er det stik modsatte. Et mindre skadeligt alternativ, s\u00e5som vaping, skal v\u00e6re overkommeligt for almindelige rygere, der fors\u00f8ger at holde op med at ryge cigaretter. Den globale sundhedsstrategi er en spildt mulighed for at g\u00f8re EU til en f\u00f8rende inden for reduktion af tobaksskader, og den l\u00e6kkede skatteplan beviser dette yderligere," tilf\u00f8jede Landl.<\/p>\n
