EU-Kommissionen skal modst\u00e5 presset mod vape, siger World Vapers' Alliance. I sidste uge annoncerede EU-Kommissionen registreringen af et europ\u00e6isk borgerinitiativ (ECI) med titlen 'Opfordring til at opn\u00e5 et tobaksfrit milj\u00f8 og den f\u00f8rste europ\u00e6iske tobaksfri generation inden 2030'.<\/h5>\n

Arrang\u00f8rerne, en spansk folkesundheds-NGO kaldet NoFumadores, foresl\u00e5r at forbyde salg af tobak og nikotinprodukter til alle borgere f\u00f8dt efter 2010.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, direkt\u00f8r for World Vapers' Alliance, sagde: \u201c"Dette initiativ viser den udbredte misinformation om forskellige nikotinprodukter. Vi kan ikke have en universel tilgang til meget forskellige produkter. N\u00e6sten al skaden ved rygning stammer fra de tusindvis af andre kemikalier i tobaksr\u00f8g, ikke fra nikotin. Derudover s\u00e6tter World Vapers' Alliance sp\u00f8rgsm\u00e5lstegn ved det praktiske i et salgsforbud knyttet til borgernes f\u00f8dsels\u00e5r: \u201c"Hvordan skal dette fungere i praksis? Om f\u00e5 \u00e5r vil butikker skulle kontrollere ID'er p\u00e5 50-\u00e5rige. Dette vil ikke fungere. Disse regler vil blive ignoreret, eller de vil generere et massivt sort marked. Begge resultater er skadelige for folkesundheden. Udover at v\u00e6re upraktiske kan generationsforbud v\u00e6re ulovlige i Europa, da de strider mod en lige og retf\u00e6rdig behandling af EU-borgere \u2013 en s\u00f8jle i Lissabontraktaten. Desuden er det moralsk forkert at n\u00e6gte yngre generationer skadesreduktion.
