I dag lancerede Europa-Kommissionen sin skels\u00e6ttende \u2018'Plan mod kr\u00e6ft'\u2019<\/a> men World Vapers' Alliance, en gruppe, der repr\u00e6senterer tusindvis af vapers verden over, er bekymret over den bias, rapporten viser mod vaping.<\/p>\n

I en kommentar til lanceringen af planen, Michael Landl, direkt\u00f8r for World Vapers' Alliance, sagde:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201c"Dagens plan viser, at Europa-Kommissionen lader ideologi st\u00e5 i vejen for videnskaben. M\u00e5let med Europas plan mod kr\u00e6ft er at reducere kr\u00e6ftbyrden for patienter, deres familier og sundhedssystemer, men den ignorerer den store m\u00e6ngde beviser, der viser, at vaping kun repr\u00e6senterer mindre end halvdelen af en procent af den kr\u00e6ftrisiko, som rygning udg\u00f8r."\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Hvis det ikke er slemt nok at ignorere beviserne for, at vaping er et mindre skadeligt alternativ til vaping, sidestiller planen vaping med rygning i dele af planen. Som reaktion p\u00e5 denne falske \u00e6kvivalens sagde Landl:<\/p>\n

\u201c"Rygning og vaping er ikke det samme, og det ved Kommissionen godt. Men p\u00e5 grund af en ideologisk tilgang fors\u00f8mmer de deres pligt til at f\u00f8re politikker i alle EU-borgeres bedste interesse. At behandle de to som det samme er en fejltagelse, der kan forhindre tusindvis af rygere i at holde op med at ryge. Vi ved trods alt, at vaping er dobbelt s\u00e5 effektivt som andre metoder til at holde op med at ryge."\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I et tr\u00e6k mod vaping fastl\u00e6gger Europas plan for bek\u00e6mpelse af kr\u00e6ft skridt til systematisk at begr\u00e6nse vaping ved hj\u00e6lp af de samme teknikker, der bruges til at begr\u00e6nse tobaksbrug. S\u00e5danne eksempler omfatter udvidelse af beskatning til nye tobaksprodukter, forbud mod vaping indend\u00f8rs og forbud mod smagsstoffer.<\/p>\n

Om anti-vaping-forslagene udtalte Landl:<\/p>\n

\u201c"Hvis vaping er underlagt de samme regler som cigaretter \u2013 h\u00f8jere afgifter, forbud visse steder osv. \u2013 s\u00e5 vil de, der er holdt op med at ryge takket v\u00e6re vaping, opleve, at rygning bliver relativt mere tiltalende. \u201c"Hvis EU er bekymret over, at unge begynder at vape, s\u00e5 lad os h\u00e5ndh\u00e6ve aldersbegr\u00e6nsninger, men at g\u00f8re vaping dyrere og mindre behageligt er en sikker m\u00e5de at drive nuv\u00e6rende vapers direkte tilbage til den gamle vane."\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c"At vende tilbage til rygning er ogs\u00e5 en central bekymring blandt vores medlemmer, som er blevet mobiliseret forud for denne plan med 7540 underskrifter til st\u00f8tte for vaping og 229 e-mails til MEP'er. Vi gennemf\u00f8rte ogs\u00e5 en unders\u00f8gelse, der konkluderede, at 94% af vores medlemmer f\u00f8ler, at vaping hjalp dem med at reducere eller helt holde op med at ryge. Vapers kan ikke ignoreres, da de vil v\u00e6re de f\u00f8rste, der lider under denne plan."\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Efter offentligg\u00f8relsen af Europas plan mod kr\u00e6ft vil EU's sundhedskommiss\u00e6r Kyriakides' flagskibsinitiativ blive gennemg\u00e5et og komme med input fra Europa-Parlamentet. Det er her, Landl h\u00e5ber, at MEP'erne p\u00e5peger de fejl, som Kommissionen har beg\u00e5et, og at de retter op p\u00e5 dem i deres egen plan, som vil blive offentliggjort senere p\u00e5 \u00e5ret.<\/p>\n
