Ze drongen er bij afgevaardigden naar de komende besprekingen over het Kaderverdrag inzake tabaksontmoediging (FCTC) in november op aan om de rol van veiligere alternatieven voor sigaretten te erkennen.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens een forum op 3 september in Makati ondertekenden deskundigen en consumentenorganisaties een gezamenlijke verklaring waarin de WHO werd opgeroepen om &quot;schadebeperking volledig te integreren in tabaksbestrijding&quot;. Zij betoogden dat de huidige aanpak van het agentschap geen rekening houdt met wetenschappelijk bewijs en de realiteit van consumenten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&quot;Het bewijs is duidelijk: verbranding is dodelijk, niet nicotine. Er bestaan veiligere alternatieven die effectief zijn.
