Naar aanleiding van de aanstelling van de nieuwe regering in Itali\u00eb presenteerde de World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA) samen met haar Italiaanse partnerorganisatie ANPVU de aanbevelingen om het roken te verminderen en door roken veroorzaakte sterfgevallen te bestrijden aan vertegenwoordigers van de partijen die de nieuwe regering vormen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">De &quot;7-stappenstrategie&quot; werd ook aangekondigd tijdens een persconferentie in Rome, waar de nieuwe regering een vertrouwensstemming in het parlement kreeg. De persconferentie werd bijgewoond door Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, Europarlementari\u00ebr Gianna Gancia (Lega), Barbara Mennitti, hoofdredacteur van SigMagazine, en Anna Corbosiero, vicevoorzitter van de National Association of United Vapers (ANPVU).<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c&quot;Ik ben van mening dat deze nieuwe regering, die zojuist is aangetreden, alle troeven in handen heeft om de kwestie van de tabakswetgeving aan te pakken met een wetenschappelijke en op feiten gebaseerde aanpak. Bij de voorgestelde herziening van de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn is het noodzakelijk dat de Italiaanse regering aandringt op een aantal fundamentele punten met betrekking tot de wetgeving inzake elektronische sigaretten&quot;, aldus Gianna Gancia, Europarlementari\u00ebr van Lega.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c&quot;Itali\u00eb zou in het bijzonder een breed scala aan smaken moeten behouden, wat de consument zou helpen bij de overstap van traditioneel naar elektronisch roken, terwijl tegelijkertijd de vorming van een illegale parallelmarkt wordt ontmoedigd. Ook zou het land een eerlijker belastingstelsel moeten hanteren om te voorkomen dat er een zwarte markt ontstaat&quot;, concludeerde Europarlementslid Gancia.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAlleen al in Itali\u00eb zijn er nog steeds meer dan 12 miljoen mensen die roken. De directe en indirecte kosten van roken bedragen bijna 26 miljard euro. Daarom moet de nieuwe regering een nieuwe aanpak implementeren: in plaats van stigmatisering en verbod, moet Itali\u00eb innovaties zoals vapen omarmen. Door wetenschappelijk bewijs en consumentenervaringen te volgen, heeft de nieuwe Italiaanse regering de potentie om een voortrekkersrol te spelen in het terugdringen van de tabaksschade. Onze &quot;7-stappenstrategie&quot; biedt een uitgebreide leidraad om de rookvrije doelen te bereiken&quot;, aldus WVA-directeur Michael Landl.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">De aanbevelingen omvatten de volgende punten:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Omarm het verminderen van de schade door tabaksgebruik;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Promoot vapen als hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Sta dampen toe in rookvrije buitenruimtes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Verlaag de belasting op vaping-producten en pas deze aan op het relatieve risico;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Verwerp smaakverboden;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Zorg ervoor dat vapen mogelijk blijft en handhaaf slimme regelgeving om vapen door minderjarigen strikt te voorkomen;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Bevorder de vermindering van de schade door tabaksgebruik in de EU-instellingen en -wetgeving.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">De 7-stappenstrategie voor schadebeperking voor Itali\u00eb maakt deel uit van de Europese campagne van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance voor schadebeperking, gepresenteerd onder de slogan #BackVapingBeatSmoking. De groep bezocht eerder Frankrijk, Polen en Tsjechi\u00eb om de Vaping Products Directive, een visie van de groep op de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn ter beperking van schade, te presenteren aan verschillende leden van het Europees Parlement en lokale beleidsmakers.
