With even stricter rules which came into force<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tobaccoreporter.com\/2026\/04\/27\/hong-kong-believes-vape-ban-wont-impact-tourism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from April 30th<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 2026, here are five things you should know before you go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Legal access to vapes is essentially shut down <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hong Kong <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taco.gov.hk\/t\/english\/legislation\/legislation_asp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the import, manufacture, and sale of vaping and heated tobacco products for commercial purposes. In reality, this leaves consumers with no legal way to access these alternatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Using vapes in public can cost you<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public use is prohibited. If caught, you can face fines of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taco.gov.hk\/t\/english\/legislation\/legislation_asp.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">up to $3000<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, even for small quantities.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Penalties escalate quickly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the quantity in your possession is considered large, penalties can increase to $5000 or even up to six months in jail. Travelling with your vape? Expect problems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing your vape into Hong Kong is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/news\/hong-kong\/law-and-crime\/article\/3351426\/what-smokers-need-know-about-hong-kongs-new-e-cigarette-ban\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not allowed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. There is a high likelihood it will be confiscated at the border.
